Jason Connery, the son of the late James Bond actor Sir Sean Connery, has committed more than $1 million to the Lost Shore Surf Resort, a state-of-the-art wave pool facility located near Edinburgh, Scotland. The resort, which opened in November, aims to bring a unique experience to the region and is already the largest surf park in Europe.

The Lost Shore Surf Resort, which utilizes Wavegarden’s cutting-edge technology, boasts a hefty price tag of over $75 million. The park has the capacity to generate over 1,000 waves per hour and is expected to attract around 160,000 visitors annually.

Connery expressed his excitement about the project, calling it an “exciting and ambitious” venture that will offer “something truly special to Scotland.” The resort is seen as more than just a surf destination; it is also viewed as a catalyst for economic growth and community engagement in the region.

“This investment underscores the potential of inland surf parks not only as world-class sporting destinations but also as key drivers of local development,” said resort spokesperson Hadden.
